AAhhhhhh!!!

We've finally made it to Hawaii and it's AWESOME!! We're staying the first night w/ our good friends the Noah's and they embody the "aloha" spirit like no other. Lincoln did an amazing job on the 11 hour trip today. Or is it yesterday? We left on Sunday evening from Brisbane and arrived Sunday morning in Hawaii. Tomorrow we're off to the North Shore to meet up w/ Laura's side of the family for Thanksgiving Holiday. There will be close to 30 people for that feast and we will have much to be thankful for. No forks in the hiny this trip (good!). We're super tired but for the next 11 days we've got nothing to do but rest and thank God we're alive and in this place.

Fork in the Hiny

One more airplane story. I was stretching out in my seat trying to sleep (not going well) and Laura asked if I'd hold Lincoln for a bit. I scooted back in my seat quickly not knowing there was a fork wedged in the side if my chair. As I went back it stuck in my leg. Yikes!! I now have a nice fork mark in my upper leg. Gotta love those 14 hour plane flights w/ a fork stuck in your hiny :-)

Jet Lag and Focus on the Family Australia

I think I'm coping w/ jet lag pretty well, but it has left me a little thick headed. If you've ever flown across the international date line you probably understand. There are moments of great clairity and then times of confusion and zombie like action. It has made for lots of fun between the four of us. Lincoln is taking this like a champ. He's so funny when he gets super tired. The more tired he gets the more frantic he becomes so nights are filled w/ super fast baby talk while scouering the hotel room for things to grab and throw.

We went to a vision dinner for Focus on the Family Australia at the "Old Crickiter's Club." We had a blast meeting everyone and learning about Focus Australia. A man spoke on his new book "Thrilled to Death" which is totally fascinating. I can't wait to read it. Ok, we're off to the beacha and hopfully some animal parks. Pix to follow.

Foot Lady

So while on the plane the couple behind us was very unhappy. At first I thought it was because we have a baby and he was fussy, but throughout the flight the woman just complained about everything. And very loudly often w/ much profanity. I thought it was funny, Laura did not. Then sometime during the flight Laura woke me up to inform me that loud complaining lady had her bare foot stuck between the seats and it was in Laura's face. She said "What shuold I do?" I said "Nothing" and reached over and grabbed the foot much to our surprise or shoudl I say her surprise. She was so startled she almost fell off the chair and we weren't bothered by her foot any longer.

Spoke to soon :-)

Yeah, we arrived at LAX Sat night only to be told our flight had been canceled. It was a bit of a nightmare to be honest. We had to check in as if we were flying out. So baby Linc had to be woken up way past his bed time and then they took all of our bags. We stayed in a hotel in LA where an anime convention was going on. That was funny. Ok, back to the story. Linc had a bit of a rough night and we wre back to the airport for a supposed 9:00am flight. Someone didn't get their wake up call and we didn't take off until well after 10:00am. After that flight we can do anything. If we had gotten to leave late at night like planned Lincoln would've slept a bunch as it was Larua and I were tired and he really wanted to play. So we're now in Australia. We were zombies last night. I was worried how Linc would take the time change but he was a trouper. We really have the best baby in the world and the Lord has blessed us so much. I was a little discouraged last night. We were so tired I didn't know if I'd recover in time to really want to speak, let alone do a good job. What a difference a night of sleep makes. I just can't wait to get on the radio this morning and start preaching up God's Word. Thanks so much for all your prayers. I'll keep blogging if you keep reading. I've got to get some power converters. I've got to run, but I've got a funny story about the couple sitting behind us on the plane. I'll tell you later today.

I come from a land down under

Not really, but I'm heading to Australia tonight. I got up super early this morning in Detroit and flew to CA to meet up with Larua and Lincoln. I had an amazing time in Detroit speaking at a Family Services benifit. There were such great stories from parents who adopted kids and from families who gave up their children for adoption. So cool. Anyway, baby Linc is asleep and we're awaiting our car to take us to the airport. Allison (Laura's friend) is coming with us to help out w/ Linc and to hang w/ us. I'll try to do a show with her and send it while we're away. Hope you're all doing well. Next time I post it'll be from another country. Yikes the driver just knocked at the door. Pray for us. We're about to take a 1 year old on a 14 hour flight!!
God Bless,
Ryan
PS don't forget about the forums. They're great!!

Photos Anyone?

About a week ago I was having a bad day and got a call that the wheels and tires came in for my 49 Chevy truck Laura got me last year. I go them on and went for my first drive in it. It was so awesome. Laura had a blast too. I'm in Detroit today and I fly back to California tomorrow and then tomorrow night we're off to Australia!!

Hello Cleveland!!

Ok, so I'm not in Cleveland, I'm home getting ready for a trip. Sorry about the lack of podcasts. I ran over my laptop (another story) and have been constantly on the road. Anyway, I'll have more soon. I hope. Seriously, I'm going on a trip and won't be back until Dec. Zach (past podcasts. future too) is going to watch the house in our absence and he's a good shot so don't get any ideas!! Ok, so I've decided to run a marathon next year. Probably the NY. My friend Paul just ran it and it's insprired me. I only have one problem. I hate to run and I'm totally out of shape. That's two problems but who's counting. So in an effort to motivate me I bought the Nike+iPod running thingy and just did my first mile run. Yikes, so embarrassing. Worse though is I messed it up somehow and it didn't register. Now I have to find a track or something while on the road to do it over. So I'll be updating more often especially if I can't post podcasts from the road but I'll try to do that too. God Bless you all. Please write in or comment to let me know how you're all doing.
